Day 1: Luxor - Esna
Arrival at Luxor (Airport/Train Station/hotel). Welcome by Egypt Best Holidays team to start your Dahabiya Nile Cruise then you will be transferred by private A/C vehicle to your Dahabiya Nile Cruise to Check-in

Esna: Sailing down the Nile River to the beautiful and ancient city of Nekheb, now called El Kab which is situated across the Nile from the city of Nekhen (Herakonpolis), and was the site of temples to Thoth and Nebket. The city dated back to predynastic times. Stay overnight aboard

Day 2: Edfu
Sailing down the River Nile to Edfu while you having your breakfast: The Temple of Edfu is very dramatic. It dedicated to Horus and built-in Greco Roman times. Horus was the god of the sky whose eyes were the sun and the moon. He became equated with the king, and therefore the King was Horus manifest

In the evening we will have a barbecue night on the beach of the beautiful Island of Fawaza where you can relax, enjoy the memories of the day and watch the fabulous beauty of Egyptian sunset on the Nile River

Day 3: Gebel el-Silsila
Sailing down the River Nile to Gebel el-Silsila which was a very famous quarrying area throughout all of ancient Egypt due to the quality of the building stone quarried here. The site is a rich archaeological area having temples cut directly on the hills. Examples include the rock temple of Horemheb on the west bank. Many of the monuments here bear inscriptions of Merenptah, Ramesses 2nd, Hatshepsut, Amenhotep 2nd and Ramesses 3rd

Our Dahabiyya will sail down the Nile River right to the foot of this majestic mountain where we will have the peaceful luxury of being the only boat to be docked in this area. We will see the Temple of Horemheb and in the evening we will have a wonderful barbecue night inside the Temple, a once in a lifetime experience

Day 4: Kom Ombo
Sailing the Nile to Kom Ombo The Town of Kom Ombo is the ancient site of Ombos, which is from the ancient Egyptian word ‘Nubt’, which means ‘City of Gold’

We will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo. The Temple named as Kom Ombo is actually two temples consisting of a Temple to Sobek and a Temple of Haroeris. You can take a walk around the town to see how the native people\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s life look like and visit the local markets, then back to the boats

Day 5: Aswan
Sails down the Nile to Aswan Visit the world-famous High Dam which was an engineering miracle when it was built in the 1960s. It contains 18 times the material used in the Great Pyramid of Cheops

We will visit the amazing Temple of Isis at Philae. This monument is possibly best known for the international effort which moved it in its entirety to the island when it’s original location was threatened by the change in water level caused by the High Dam

We will visit the Unfinished Obelisk the stone weighing over 2.3 million pounds would have been the world’s largest piece of stone in the world. But as a crack developed in the stone it was abandoned. If the granite would not have developed a crack then it would have been the biggest obelisk with 40 meters height. Disembarkation & transfer to Luxor (Airport/Train Station/Hotel)

3 reviews for 5 Days Dahabiya Nile Cruise

  1. Elaine

This is a must tour. The legend of Egypt came to life with expert tour guides

  2. Adrian

We created and modified a handful of our private tours in advance and on the fly in-country. Peter, our main contact & Operation Manager, was extremely communicative and accommodated our every request! He was pleasant and honest in every exchange. We are very grateful for his hard work in arranging our tours! Our favorite tours and absolute must sees are Abu Simble and Luxor The vehicles used for each tour were clean and comfortable. All of the drivers we encountered were professional and very safe drivers. Each guide offered a suitable amount of information about each stop, spoke good English, and showed us respect. We’d like to give an additional thank you to Big Mac in Aswan for his beautiful sense of humor and additional tour recommendations. Additionally, we’d like to say thank you to our guide, Hamdi, in Luxor. We believe that is his name. He too had a great sense of humor and a genuine interest in sharing the history of his country with us. We would highly recommend this company for affordable, flexible itinerary tours in Egypt.

  3. Masako
